Refractometer Salt (Aquarium, Seawater)
A Salt refractometer is an easy to use instrument designed to measure the salt percentage of water. It is used to measure the salinity of sea-aquariums, reef-aquariums, ocean water or during brining.
Refractometers are optical instruments that require no batteries. When light passes through a liquid, it changes direction. A refractometer is capable of detecting that change, and can put it on specific measurement scale.
Use the included pipette to place a drop of the sample you want to measure on the glass plate of the refractometer. Close the lid, point the refractometer towards a light source and look through the lens to see the result.
When using a refractometer, make sure your sample and the refractometer have the same temperature. Clean it after each use and store in a dry place.
